Earth Club Factory Bistro & Guesthouse

The licensed Denman Island Earth Club Factory Bistro & Guesthouse has onsite coffee roasting, fresh meals including organic, vegan and gluten-free options, an organic buying club, live music, art exhibits, a performance room, tourist information, and giftware. Originally a 1912 farm house, the renovated space has large windows, lots of wood, and one wall opens onto a patio and yard where you can enjoy a beer, coffee, or meal.

The Earth Club Factory philosophy is that we should all tread lightly on our world and make the effort to reduce our footprint. It has two gardens and an earthship greenhouse, an active composting and recycling program, sells affordable solar panels, and facilitates an organic food buying club.

The Bistro

Enjoy fresh roasted coffee and explore the variety of homemade foods – always with gluten-free and vegan options.

The Denman Guesthouse is a proud supporter of the suspended coffee program, so if you’re a little short of cash – they got you covered.

The Guesthouse 

Shared Rooms, private rooms, family rooms, camping, hot tub, laundry, wifi, It’s all here at the Guesthouse Hostel and Bistro neatly wrapped up on one of the most historic properties on Denman Island.  Located in the Denman Village everything is within walking distance, shopping eating , the ferry terminal and all the entertainment Denman has to offer.

The accommodation is varied with many options including:

• Shared rooms at $24.50 a night.
• Private single at $45.00 a night.
• Double rooms at $59.00 a night.
• Family rooms at $72.95 a night plus seasonal camping and glamping options.

Live Music

From September to June, The Earth Club Factory, ‘Denman’s nightclub’, presents live music weekly with a variety of musicians from across North America, including duos, trios, soloists, playing jazz, traditional, progressive or new traditional bluegrass, folk, ska, and more.

Earthclub Factory owner Sheldon’s connection to a large network of hundreds of national musicians on tour, bring some big names to this small island venue.

Bring your guitar! If you are a musician, be prepared for the spontaneous events that simply happen in the back yard.

Art

The Earth Club Factory Bistro & Guesthouse displays and sells local artwork and provides a venue for art shows and openings, often with live music and food to accompany.

Gift Shop

Browse the Bistro for a variety, Big, woven straw baskets,  incense, semi-precious stones, island jewellery, hand-crafted soaps, little Buddhas, games, and vaporizers for aromatic oils merit a regular browse out of sheer curiosity, redolent of the alternative culture which continues to thrive on the island.

Organic Food Buying Club

Bulk grains are stocked in a room off the bistro – bring your own containers to fill up on organic rice, beans, and flours, as well as environmentally friendly cleaning products and shampoos.

About the Owners

Sheldon Rempel and Donna Wooley have a background is marketing, tourism and hostel management, and ran an Earth Club Factory and hostel in Kamloops. They moved to Denman Island in 1995 and have renovated the property in stages. This year marks 20 years in operation

Donna manages the kitchen and staff, while Sheldon coordinates the entertainment and handles the marketing, and during the summer, Sheldon also runs a coffee cart business at BC music festivals.
